Modder ‘kartoffel’ has released a pretty interesting HD Texture Pack for Final Fantasy XIV. As the title suggests, this pack is 31GB in size (when unpacked) and improves the textures of all monsters.
According to the modder, this pack improves the textures of all entities in /chara/monster except for: minions and pets, mounts, ornaments – fashion accessories.
Now as you may have guessed, this pack uses AI techniques in order to upscale the original/vanilla textures. As such, this pack retains the art style of the original textures. Moreover, its visual improvement (while noticeable) may not justify its huge size for some people. Nevertheless, it’s good having an optional pack for those that want a bit better textures.
